Chambers County and the Greater Valley Area has been a thriving
economic area since the turn of the 20th Century. The economic
and industrial base has been evolving and is more diverse than
ever before. Looking ahead, as the economic and industrial base
of the Greater Valley Area becomes increasingly more diverse and
as the I-85 corridor continues to develop, the Board of Directors
of the Industrial Development Authority of Chambers County felt
it was an appropriate time to assess the strategic direction of
the area. In doing so, the IDA commissioned Brent Peinhardt of
Vantage Associates Inc. to help create a 5-year comprehensive
plan for the County. 10 Focus Group meetings were scheduled and
273 individuals were invited to participate and fill out a short
survey. 47 people participated in the focus group meetings & 23
individuals participated in the survey. IDA Board participated
in a 2-day strategy session where the strategic plan was developed.
