The Historic City of LaFayette is the county seat of Chambers County. According to 2000 Census numbers, the population of LaFayette is 3,234. In the center of town, stands the Chambers County Courthouse, which was built in 1899 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Non-profit organization dedicated to the addition and expansion to the Chambers County Courthouse. Anticipated 25,000 square foot justice center with updated courtrooms and offices.

Citizens for the Betterment of LaFayette

Civic organization dedicated to beautification and upkeep of historic LaFayette.
