3.3.09 Alabama 2008 New and Expanding Industry Report

The Chambers County School System (www.chambersk12.org) is a progressive, high-tech school system serving approximately 4,300 students in grades pre-K through 12. There are eleven schools in the Valley and LaFayette areas, including six elementary, two middle schools, two high schools and a career and technical center for grades 10-12. The schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and all of the Career Tech programs are business and industry certified.
The Lanett City School District (www.lanettcityschools.org) includes three schools within the city of Lanett serving over 1,500 students. Lanett Schools are focusing on learning through a balance of academic programs and extracurricular activities such as Army Junior ROTC, art, music, and athletics.
Parents who prefer to provide their children with private education will find two private schools in Chambers County.
Springwood School (www.springwoodschool.com) in Lanett offers instruction for grades K4-12. The school is SACS accredited and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the Southern Association of Independent Schools, and the Alabama Association of Independent Schools. Springwood emphasizes technology at all levels and promotes lifelong learning by all students in an environment where integrity, self-disciple and strength of charter are fundamental. The school offers a college preparatory curriculum, an honors program and advanced placement classes.
Chambers Academy (www.chambersacademy.com), located in LaFayette, serves pre-school through 12th grade. The Academy’s instructional staff meet Alabama Independent School Association certification requirements and the school is SACS accredited. Chambers Academy’s goals are academic excellence and the social growth and development of its students. Diverse athletic, music, art, and extracurricular programs are designed to complement and strengthen academic programs and to provide every student with the opportunity to be involved in a school activity outside the classroom.
