Alabama & Chambers County Unemployment Rates Drop

In December 2012, Alabama's Unemployment Rate dropped to 7.1%. Chambers County now joins over half of the state with an unemployment rate of 7.9% or less. The county rate dropped in December 2012 from 8.2% to 7.9%. Unemployment in Chambers County continues to decrease as new companies locate within the county, existing industries continue to expand, and citizens return to work. "For over five years I have worked very hard recruiting as we have watched Chambers County move from being the highest in the state to now joining over half of the other Alabama communities in being 7.9% or less", Valerie Gray of the CCDA says.
