CCDA Annual Existing Industry Lunch & Manufacturer of the Year Award
On March 29, 2012 the Chambers County Development Authority held their annual Existing Industry Lunch held at the Valley Community Center in Valley, AL. Honored art this event was AJIN USA as the 2012 CCDA Manufacturer of the Year. "Grow Your Business and Share Your Profit to Benefit Society" is the literal English translation of the traditional Korean language and motto that greets employees, executives, guests and elected officials the moment you walk through the doors at AJIN USA in Chambers County. “Those words should remind us daily that we all have a part. The economic development process is multi-faceted. It's not just based on recruitment and incentives. It's determining the right fit for your community as well as the right fit for a company. It's service after the sale. It's ensuring success of companies so those companies can give back to the community in which we live, work, worship and play. “, Valerie Gray of the CCDA stated at the lunch. CEO Jung Ho Seo (AKA Mr. Sea or President Seo), promised the leadership of Chambers County back at beginning of operation on 2009, that AJIN USA would be the premier employer in the County and would give back to the community, and that, he has proven over and over again. Last year alone our hospital was a recipient of a half million dollars, courtesy of AJIN USA and President Jung Ho Seo. That money was used to ensure that quality health care be delivered to our community and that can be evident by today's grand opening of the Lanier Medical Pavilion. Over the last 18 months, since beginning production, AJIN has gifted over $600,000 to local charities and organizations. AJIN USA also allows industry tours when needed for local citizens of Chambers County. AJIN USA currently employs roughly 600 employees and most of them are Chambers County residents. They are a member of the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, Platinum Sponsor of the CCDA, Chattahoochee Valley Hospital Society Board of Trustees, and numerous other organizations. The CCDA very much appreciates everything AJIN USA has and will continue to do for our community.
Elected officials, manufacturing industries, business owners, and community volunteers were invited to attend the event. With an attendance of around 120 people, Valerie Gray, Executive Director of the CCDA, recognized the 2011-2012 CCDA Corporate Sponsors as well as gave an economic update for Chambers County. Robert “Sid” McAnnally, Vice President External Affairs for Energen and all subsidiaries for Alagasco was the guest speaker at the event. Mr. McAnnalley gave the audience a full election rundown and his predictions for the upcoming election. The CCDA always appreciates the support they receive from Chambers County and is looking forward to next year’s event.
