CCDA Summer Internship Program

on April 23, 2013

The CCDA is gearing up for another great summer and with that comes the opportunity for one lucky upcoming senior to intern at the Chambers County Development Authority. The CCDA began last year offering a paid internship to one high school student enrolled in a local high school, public or private, for the duration of the summer. The student would be required to sign in daily and would have duties and assignments weekly just like in the real workplace. The CCDA's goal through this internship is to provide the student with real world experience, gaining professionalism, soft skills development, and community involvment. Included in the intern's daily routine are five minute daily lessons with Kimberly about the community and state. "It is important that these students are educated about the community in which they live and what it has to offer them", Fuller says. Also included in the internship are various industry tours throughout the summer of local existing companies. Last year's internship was a big hit and we are very excited about the upcoming interviews for this year!
