July Edition: Community Crossroads
Strengthening our ties to the community through means of communication, the Chambers County Development Authority (CCDA) would like to inform individuals in the community of some of our upcoming events. The CCDA will be hosting a meeting for all small businesses in the area on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 6:00 pm EDT. This meeting is free of charge and all small business owners are encouraged to attend. This meeting will cover the importance of website development for small businesses and cost effective ways to do so.
Also, on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 10:00 am EDT, the CCDA will be hosting an Alabama Immigration Law Seminar. This seminar will inform large and small businesses in Alabama of all new immigration laws and their enforcement. The Development Authority hopes that all can attend these meetings; it will be well worth your time.
Along with these events, the CCDA has just recently hired on a new intern, Nicole Carter, for the summer. This is part of their program to reach out to the community’s youth and teach them real-world skills that are unfortunately not taught in schools. This should be a very successful program to prepare our youth for college and future careers. On July 23, 2012, the CCDA will be announcing a new project at the Chambers County Commission meeting. Those involved are very excited to share this news with the rest of the community. Finally, to recognize one of our own, Keith Hetting from Great Lakes Metal Stamping was awarded with the honor of speaking at the Auburn Intensive Economic Development Course this past week. This is a great honor, and the CCDA is very proud of him. The CCDA also encourages community and business involvement and is happy to answer any questions or help with concerns that our local businesses may have.
