on April 22, 2013

Great day in Chambers County! On April 17, 2013, at the Chambers County Development Authority's Annual Existing Industry Luncheon, a big announcement took place. The CCDA along with local officials announced Knauf Insulation's intent to reopen the Lanett facility in 2013. CCDA Executive Director, Valerie Gray stated that the CCDA staff has been working hand in hand with the Knauf upper management since their plant closing in 2011 to assist with the possibility of the facility reopening again in the future. Thanks to a lot of hard work and dedication from many people, this has paid off. Plans are set for the Lanett facility to reopen as early as 2014 . More news to come soon regarding hiring and timeline! The CCDA wants to thank all of the wonderful companies within our county for being here and working hard to keep Chambers County growing. Without you, we would be out of a job! We truly believe the statement that says 65% of new jobs and growth comes from existing industry. It is so important to show you daily how much you mean to us. Special thanks to Kimberly Fuller and Tammy Johnson for doing an INCREDIBLE JOB on the Luncheon! There were over 130 in attendance. The CCDA is dedicated to working to bring jobs to Chambers County and is very excited about what potential the 2013 year holds for growth here.
