LaFayette Mayor Takes Oath

Incumbent LaFayette Mayor Barry Moody took his oath of office for a second term Monday evening. The mayor's wife held a Bible while District Judge Calvin Milford administered the oath. Moody won a runoff election in October against former police chief Kenneth Vines. Following the ceremony, he asked city council members and the public to join with him in a unified effort to make the next four years the best LaFayette has ever seen.
KIA Global Sales Up in October SEOUL — Kia Motors Corporation has announced its October 2016 global sales figures for passenger cars and commercial vehicles, recording a total of 263,854 units sold. This figure represents a 4.9-percent year-on-year increase compared to the same month of 2015. In October, Kia posted year-on-year sales increases in China (23 percent growth with 71,209 units sold), Western Europe (8.5 percent growth with 35,544 units sold), Eastern Europe (7.2 percent growth with 17,346 units sold) and general markets (7.1 percent growth with 44,903 units sold). Cumulatively through the first 10 months of 2016, Kia’s global sales totalled 2,454,554 units for a year-on-year increase of 3.3 percent. Western Europe (373,615 units sold), China (504,058 units sold), North America (602,663 units sold) and Korea (436,494 units sold) have seen a 13.8, 6.1, 2.9 and 2.9 percent rise in sales, respectively.
